Proper Care Landscaping

Services

Everything we do —in plain English.

We’ll quote any of these on-site. The price you get is the price you pay — no surprise add-ons, no upsells.

  • Weekly Mowing

Even cut, sharp blade, height set for the season. Edged borders, walks blown clean, gate latched on the way out — every visit.

Weekly or bi-weekly mow with a sharp blade — never a dull one ripping the tip of every blade. Cut height goes up in May and stays up through monsoon so the lawn keeps its moisture and never gets scalped in the El Mirage heat. Edged at every visit, walkways and the driveway blown clean before we leave. We do not consider a yard finished until the last bit of clipping is off the concrete.

  • Edging & Trimming

Crisp, deliberate edges along beds, walks, and drives. String-trim everywhere the mower can’t reach. No shortcuts on the side yard.

Power-edged borders that stay sharp for a full week, careful trim work around block walls, posts, citrus trees, and AC units, and a final blower pass so nothing carries over to the patio or street. The side yard gets the same attention as the front — we do not let a fence be the excuse for skipping a corner.

  • Desert Bed Maintenance

Hand-pull weeds out of the gravel. Trim agave, lantana, sage, oleander at the right time. Refresh decomposed granite where it’s thinned out.

Hand-pulled weeds (no glyphosate near edibles unless you ask), seasonal pruning timed to each plant rather than the calendar — agave gets touched once a year, oleander after bloom, lantana harder in late winter. We top up decomposed granite or rock where the wind and rain have moved it, and re-set bed edges so the line between yard and bed actually reads from the curb.

  • Seasonal Cleanups

Post-monsoon cleanup, spring reset, mesquite-pod and palm-frond removal. The big two visits a year that reset everything.

A full-property reset twice a year — timed for our climate, not Midwest seasons. Post-monsoon (Sept–Oct): downed mesquite branches, blown debris, washed-in gravel raked back, palm fronds out. Spring (Feb–Mar): cut-back of frost-burned tips, fresh granite, bed edges re-cut, irrigation pre-summer check. Bagged hauling included.

Starts at $85 · per visit

  • Drip & Sprinkler Tune-Ups

Find the bubbler that’s missing the tree, the broken drip line behind the agave, the controller programmed wrong since last summer.

Drip-line repairs, emitter swaps, sprinkler head replacements, controller programming for a Phoenix-zone schedule (most of which we end up changing seasonally), and a walk-through with you to make sure every zone is hitting what it should. We bring the parts on the truck — most repairs happen the same visit.

  • Tree & Palm Service

Mesquite, palo verde, citrus, and palms. Trimmed at the right time of year — not just whenever someone calls.

Skirting and frond removal on date and Mexican fan palms, structural pruning on mesquite and palo verde to keep them from splitting in monsoon, citrus thinning to keep the canopy productive. We schedule palms in spring (after seed pods form, before the heat) and mesquites in winter — the right time matters.

  • Granite & Mulch Refresh

Wind and rain move the rock. We bring it back, top it up, re-set the depth so beds look fresh and the weeds give up.

Bulk-delivered decomposed granite or hardwood mulch, hand-spread to the right depth around plants and trees, with a clean edge against any lawn area. We rake in what’s blown thin, pull last year’s clumped mulch first if it needs it, and top up so the bed reads as deliberate again.

  • Shrub & Hedge Shaping

Shaped, not shaved. Oleander, sage, bougainvillea, hopbush — pruned so they keep their form between visits.

Hand-shaped pruning rather than the box-it-flat approach. We cut to keep the natural form of each shrub, encourage flowering in the right season, and avoid the woody bare-stem look that comes from over-shearing. Done at the right time of year for each species.

Starts at $60 · per visit

Most weekly customers add cleanups, mulch, and the odd hardscape job — there’s usually a flat-rate way to handle that.
